Daisy’s collages were triggered by the sad task of clearing out her mother-in-law’s house, where she discovered drawers upon drawers of paper: lined, squared, carbon copy paper, some speckled with age and others stained. Feeling the urge to create something from this precious resource, she began collaging, with a group of paintings developing alongside. She is drawn to the idea of vessels in the form of bowls and explores the notion of containment and absence. Daisy’s work deals with subtleties of surface and depth, texture and light, which she explores by dragging, dripping and pouring oil paint. She is always looking for new methods to create tensions between her surface shapes.
Daisy is a largely self-taught artist, exhibiting widely in London.
